The eco-conscious mini-farm.

With our 15 years of experience in the field of aquaponics and hydroponics, we have developed the TinyFarmHouse - a mini-farm system for the environmentally conscious hobby farmer consisting of a hydroponic or aquaponic system integrated into a greenhouse. The TinyFarmHouse system is based on a low-tech approach.

With sparingly used technology, the system is kept manageable and energy efficient. With our SmartHydroTool, it can be monitored online. Information on the subject of aquaponics are available digitally.

A special feature of our system is a decoupled cycle, i.e. the water from the aquaculture section is only piped to the plants when needed. This means that the system runs stably and is less susceptible to technical defects. Depending on the needs of the plants, organic fertiliser and beneficial insects can be used.

HYDROPONICS - DEEP-WATER-CULTURE AND NUTRIENT FILM TECHNIQUE

We use the DWC and NFT techniques for our hydroponic systems. DWC is a simple, active hydroponic system in which the roots of the plant are suspended in a nutrient solution that is actively enriched with oxygen at intervals.

An NFT system is more demanding, but uses less water and nutrients because the nutrient solution circulates in the system, surrounding the roots in a very thin “film”.

Both systems are very suitable for beginners and advanced growers.

AQUACULTURE - FISH TANKS AND BIOFILTERS

To keep the fish healthy in the fish container,

the water is circulated via a specially designed tank combination. This is needed due to the

high stocking density in the fish tank.

The combination consists of a sedimentation stage for the separation of solids, a biostage for biological purification and a storage tank for securing the volume of water in the circuit and

for irrigating the hydroponic system.
